Finding a way through conflict.

Conflict is part of being human — but when the same argument loops, or the tension never quite lifts, it wears everyone down. Therapy helps you break the cycle and communicate in a way that actually lands. In Parramatta or online.

Sound familiar?

The same argument, on repeat.

It is not the disagreements themselves that do the damage — it is the pattern they fall into. When conflict keeps looping, it drains relationships at home and at work.

  • You have the same argument over and over, and nothing resolves.
  • Conversations tip quickly into raised voices or icy silence.
  • You walk on eggshells to keep the peace.
  • You feel unheard, or like you are always the one who gives in.
  • Resentment is building faster than it clears.
  • Tension at work is following you home, or the other way around.
  • Raising something hard feels impossible without it blowing up.
  • The relationships that matter most feel strained and tiring.

Conflict itself is not the problem — it is how it plays out, and that can change. With a few well-practised skills, disagreements can become something you move through rather than get stuck in. We work with individuals, and with couples or families through our couples therapy.

How therapy helps

New skills for old patterns.

Your psychologist draws on the approaches with the best evidence for communication and conflict, and tailors the work to your situation.

Communication skills

Saying the hard thing clearly and kindly — listening to understand, and being understood in return.

CBT

Spotting the assumptions and hot thoughts that turn a disagreement into a fight, and choosing a different response.

Staying regulated

Keeping your cool in the heat of the moment, so you can problem-solve instead of escalate.

Conflict resolution

A practical framework for working toward solutions where both people get some of what they need.

If anger is the main driver, our anger management support may fit better — your psychologist will help you find the right starting point.

Fees & funding

Know your costs before you start.

We confirm your fee and any rebate in writing before your first session. If a funding body covers you, we bill them directly wherever possible.

Common questions

Things people ask before booking.

Do I need a referral to start?
No — you can book directly at any time. A GP referral and Mental Health Care Plan is only needed if you would like Medicare rebates on your sessions.
Do we have to come in together?
Not necessarily. Some people come on their own to work on how they handle conflict; others come as a couple or family. We will help you choose what fits — and couples therapy is available if you would like to work on it together.
Is this the same as anger management?
They overlap but are not identical. Conflict work focuses on communication and resolving recurring disputes; if anger is the main driver, our anger management support may be the better fit, and your psychologist can help you decide.
Is what I share confidential?
Yes. What you discuss stays confidential, with narrow legal exceptions such as a risk of serious harm, which your psychologist explains up front.
Can I do sessions online?
Yes. Telehealth is available Australia-wide and works well for this kind of therapy. You can switch between in-person and online at any time.
