Feeling wound up?
Sound familiar?

Burnout isn't just being tired.

It's a depletion that sleep doesn't fix. You don't need to tick every box — or any box — to reach out.

  • You're exhausted in a way that a good night's sleep no longer touches.
  • Work you once cared about now feels pointless, or you've gone numb to it.
  • You're cynical, short-tempered, or detached from people you care about.
  • Concentration, memory and decisions have all become harder than they should be.
  • Small setbacks feel overwhelming, and you're running on adrenaline and caffeine.
  • You can't switch off — even rest feels like another thing to fail at.
  • Your body is keeping score — headaches, tension, gut issues, getting sick often.
  • You've been told to "just take a holiday," and it has never once been enough.

Burnout is real, and it's recoverable — but rarely by willpower alone. The earlier you address it, the faster the turnaround. You don't have to hit the wall first.

How we help

Recovery, not just coping.

We help you treat the cause, not just the symptoms. Your psychologist draws on the approaches with the strongest evidence — and helps you make changes that actually stick.

CBT

Untangling the perfectionism, over-commitment and "shoulds" that drive burnout, and building more sustainable patterns.

Stress & recovery skills

Nervous-system regulation, sleep, and genuine recovery — the basics that burnout quietly erodes first.

ACT & values

Reconnecting with what actually matters to you, so your energy goes where it counts — and boundaries get easier.

Boundaries & work

Practical strategies for workload, communication and boundaries — at work and at home.

Many people notice progress within the first few sessions. We review your goals together regularly, so you always know where therapy is heading — and you can pause or stop at any time.

What to expect

Your first weeks, step by step.

No surprises, no pressure. Here's how the early sessions usually unfold.

1

Mostly a conversation

Your psychologist asks what's been happening and what you'd like to change. You only go as far as you're comfortable, and together you'll sketch a plan.

Session one
2

Finding the leaks

You'll map where your energy goes and what drains it, then start small, protective changes — recovery before performance.

Sessions two to four
3

Reviewing together

Progress is checked against your goals, not a fixed program. Some people come for six sessions, others longer — it's always your call, made with clear information.

Ongoing
Fees & funding

Common questions

Things people ask before booking.

Do I need a referral to get help with burnout?
No — book directly whenever you're ready. A GP referral and Mental Health Care Plan is only needed for Medicare rebates. (Workers-comp claims follow a different path — just ask.)
Is burnout different from depression?
They overlap but aren't the same — burnout is tied to chronic demands outstripping recovery, and it responds to different strategies. Part of our first sessions is working out exactly which pattern you're in, so treatment targets the right thing.
Is telehealth as good as coming in?
For stress and burnout, research strongly supports telehealth-delivered therapy as an effective option. Some people prefer the room, some prefer their own couch — you can switch between the two at any time.
My stress is mostly about work. Can you help with that?
Yes — workplace stress, conflict, overload and return-to-work are core work for us. If your situation involves a workers compensation claim, sessions are usually covered with no out-of-pocket cost.
Will my employer find out I'm getting help?
No. Booked privately or via Medicare, your employer is never informed. (Through a workplace EAP, only de-identified usage is shared — never what you discuss.) Confidentiality has only narrow legal exceptions, explained up front.
