Anxiety & Depression Therapy at Mind Health

How it helps

Anxiety and depression are among the most treatable mental health concerns. Mind Health psychologists draw on therapies with strong research support — cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), behavioural activation, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and, where useful, schema-informed work — matched to what's keeping the problem going for you.

Treatment is collaborative and goal-focused: you'll build practical skills for managing worry, panic, rumination and low motivation, with a clear plan for keeping the gains going.

Who it's for

Fees & funding

Therapy sessions may attract a Medicare rebate under a Mental Health Care Plan (Better Access) — ask your GP whether you're eligible for up to 10 subsidised sessions a year. Most private health 'extras' also cover psychology. We'll explain the gap fee before you book.

Common questions

Do I need a referral?
No — you can book privately. A GP Mental Health Care Plan is only needed for the Medicare rebate.
How will I know which therapy is right?
Your psychologist matches the approach (CBT, ACT, behavioural activation, schema-informed) to your goals and what's maintaining the problem.
How many sessions?
Many people see meaningful change in 6–16 sessions, depending on goals and severity.
Is telehealth available?
Yes — anxiety and depression therapy work well over secure video.
