About Shahim

Shahim Ahmad is a Clinical Psychologist at Mind Health Associates, bringing seven years of experience working with adults and young people experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression and complex life transitions.

Shahim has a particular interest in working with individuals from refugee and migrant backgrounds, and is fluent in English, Dari and Farsi — enabling him to provide therapy in the language his clients feel most comfortable in.

He uses an integrative therapeutic approach drawing primarily on Trauma-Focused CBT, EMDR, and Narrative Therapy, with a strong commitment to culturally responsive, person-centred care.

Shahim is passionate about making high-quality psychological care accessible to underserved communities, and brings genuine curiosity and compassion to each therapeutic relationship.
